This endless crisis shows singularities that clearly differentiate it from similar episodes of the past. Among others, its roots go far beyond the strictly economic scope, and its decisive framework exceeds national spaces to be placed, at least, on the European stage. But Europe, at times, seems more the problem than the solution because, under the pressure of the crisis, it shows significant shortfalls in various fields, which the long period of economic prosperity has concealed. Therefore, and in accordance with what has been the European trajectory of the Cercle d’Economia since its inception, the first edition of our Annual, aims to explore the European crises.
