Executive Director and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of Banco Sabadell, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of AMADEUS IT Group and President of the Hispanic-British Roundtable.
Previously, he was an Associate Professor at ESADE Business School (banking, finance, macroeconomics, 2015–2018), Deputy Managing Director of the European Stability Mechanism for Banking (ESM, 2012–2015), and Deputy Director of the Western Hemisphere Department (Americas) and Mission Chief for Brazil at the International Monetary Fund (2010–2012). He also served as Secretary of State for the Economy from 2004 to 2009 and Chair of the European Union Financial Services Committee (2005–2009).
He began his professional career in the Economics Department of the Office of the Prime Minister (1993–1995) and at Banco Sabadell (1992–1993). He holds a degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Master’s in Economics from the London School of Economics. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation and the Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation.
