Jaime Carvajal's professional career began in the United States in 1987, where after graduating from Princeton University in Physical Sciences, he worked in New York at the investment bank Lehman Brothers in the area of mergers and acquisitions as well as in the department in charge of capital investments of the bank itself. In 1997, he joined the World Bank at its headquarters in Washington D.C., initially as an executive within the Financial Sector and Private Sector of the department for Latin America. He was appointed shortly thereafter as co-Chief of Staff to President James D. Wolfensohn, where he served for two years and responsibilities included determining the president's agenda. After two years in this position, he was appointed Lead Investment Manager within the alternative investment team of the World Bank pension fund. From October 2001 to December 2004, he worked in the Banco Sabadell Group, initially as a Director at BS Capital, and later joined as General Manager of Sabadell Private Banking. In January 2005 he joined Arcano Partners, of which he was Partner and CEO. In addition to being CEO of Arcano Partners, Jaime Carvajal Hoyos was non-executive chairman of Evo Banc, S.A., member of the Board of Directors of Compañía de Distribución Integral Logista, S.A. (Listed on the stock exchange), member of the Board of Directors of Allfunds Bank, S.A., member of the Governing Board of the Cercle d'Economia de Barcelona, Trustee and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Barcelona Foundation. Princess of Girona, President of the Juntos Sumamos Foundation and Trustee of the Spanish Institutional Foundation (FIES) and the Foro de Foros Foundation.
