Joan B. Culla Clarà

Professor in contemporary history at the UAB
He graduated (1975) and received his doctorate (1985) from the University of Barcelona. Since 1977 he has been a professor in contemporary history at the UAB in the Faculties of Communication Sciences and Arts. He has published a long fortnight of books, including El catalanisme d'esquerra, 1928-1936 (1977), El republicanisme lerrouxista a Catalunya (1901-1923) (1986), Diccionari dels Partits Políticos de Catalunya, segle XX (2000, co-director with Isidre Molas), Israel, el somni i la tragèdia (2004), La dreta española a Catalunya 1975-2008 (2009), Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (1931-2012) Una història política (2013), El tsunami. How and why the Catalan party system has become unrecognizable (2017) and La història viscuda. Memoirs (2019). He was an advisor (1980-82) of the program Memòria popular, of the Catalan Circuit of TVE, and has been director and presenter (1991-2013) of the program Segle XX, of TVC. At the same time, and for more than three decades, he has developed an intense activity as an opinion columnist, especially in the pages of the newspapers Avui, El País and Ara, and as a talk show host on Catalunya Ràdio and TV3.
