Maurici Lucena

Aena's President
Graduate in Economic and Business Sciences (specialization in Economics) from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Barcelona, ​​and Master in Economics and Finance from the Center of Monetary and Financial Studies (CEMFI) of the Bank of Spain, Madrid. Until joining Aena, he has developed various management positions in both the public and private sectors. He began his professional career as an economic analyst at Solchaga, Recio & Asociados, where he worked from September 1999 to May 2004. In the public sector he has been General Director of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), since July 2004 until May 2010, and Executive Vice President (CEO) of Systems Engineering for the Defense of Spain (ISDEFE), from May 2010 to February 2012. He was Chairman of the Council of the European Space Agency (ESA) from July 2008 until June 2010. In the private sector, at Banco Sabadell, he has been director of Patrimonial and Prudential Management from June 2016 to October 2017 and director of Prudential Regulation and Public Policy from November 2017 to July 2018. He was a deputy and spokesman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the Parliament of Catalonia from December 2012 to October 2015. In the teaching field, he was an associate professor in the Department of Economy of the Carlos III University of Madrid, in 2002. He is also the author of the book En busca de la pócima mágica. Las políticas industriales y de innovación que funcionan… y las que no (Antoni Bosch editor, 2013). And he is coordinator, along with Rafael Repullo, of the book Ensayos sobre economía y política económica. Homenaje a Julio Segura (Antoni Bosch editor, 2013). He is Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Aena since July 16, 2018.
