Pedro Fontana holds a degree in Business Administration from ESADE and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard University. He was president of Banca Catalana from 1994 to 1999, general director of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya in Catalonia until 2009 and has also been president of the Advisory Board of BBVA Catalunya. He was the general director of the Barcelona Olympic Games Organising Committee from 1990 to 1993, CEO of Worldwide Areas, the Concessions division of Elior Group and he then assumed the role as Deputy General Manager of the Group in 2017. Pedro Fontana is currently Executive Vice President of EMESA and member of the Board of Directors of Elior Group. He is also a director of Fira de Barcelona, Banco de Sabadell and the Indukern Group, as well as a member of the Plenary Sessions at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Industry Services and Navigation, patron of the Fundació Cercle d’Economia and member of the Board of Trustees of the Mobile World Capital Barcelona Foundation. Since 2014 he has held the role as president of the Council d’APD of the ZonaMediterránea among other positions. Throughout his career, Pedro Fontana has also assumed positions as president of the Cercle d’Economia, member of the Board of Trustees of the ESADE Foundation, as well as the Presidency of the Social Council of the University of Barcelona. He has also been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Ramon Llull University and advisor to the Zeta Group and El Periódico de Catalunya.
