He is a political scientist with a PhD in Political Science, Public Policy, and International Relations from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and a Master’s (with honors) in International Relations from the London School of Economics. His doctoral thesis was awarded Cum Laude and received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award from UAB.
He has taught at various universities, including the Autonomous University of Barcelona, IBEI, ESADE, and Blanquerna. He is also a member of the Board of the Cercle d’Economia and of the European Foreign Policy Observatory at IBEI.
Previously, he served as Coordinator of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the European Union, Advisor on External Action at the European Parliament, and Head of the Euro-Mediterranean Policy Area at the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).
He has published numerous research articles in academic journals, think tanks, and opinion pieces on global geopolitics, European foreign policy, European integration, and related topics. His most recent books include “Al Pati dels Grans. Europa davant d’un món hostil” (La Campana, also published in Spanish by Debate) and “Strategy-Making in the EU: From Foreign and Security Policy to External Action” (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019).
He regularly participates in media outlets (press, radio, and TV) as an analyst on European and international affairs.
