The director of El País, Pepa Bueno, and the director of La Vanguardia, Jordi Juan, were the protagonists of the XXIII edition of the cycle of dialogues Plural Spain, Plural Catalonia that was held on Wednesday, June 12 in Larra, a journalism space. The director of La Brújula on Onda Cero, Rafa Latorre, and Rosa María Sánchez, Head of Economics at El Periódico, moderated the debate.
In this edition, we talked about the perspective effect in journalism, analysing how subjective perception, cultural values, and editorial decisions influence the presentation of news. In addition, how journalists approach this challenge to achieve more balanced and objective coverage was discussed.
The meeting continued a series sustained since 2013 with the aim of promoting a space for free and open debate in which to bring together positions that are sometimes monolithic. It is organised by Cercle d'Economia, the Association of European Journalists and Diario Madrid Foundation, with the sponsorship of Banco Sabadell.
