The Health Sciences Commission of the Cercle d'Economia was created in early June this year in order to open a reflection on the future of the health system and to try to analyze in detail the so-called health sciences industry, an industry we understand will be crucial over the next few years.

With the participation of Salvador Illa, Minister of Health, Andreu Mas-Colell, President of Bist, Raül Blanco, Secretary General of Industry and PIME of the Gobierno de España, Marc Ramentol, Secretary General of the Department of Health of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Cristina Garmendia, President Cotec and Javier Faus, President of the Cercle d'Economia.

"We share some insights of the report in addition to its usefulness and when it arrives. (…) It places the health care debate at the national level, but also emphasizes the importance of industrial health system."

"This report picks up on a duty we have as a society: to learn from experience. We've been in a transforming pandemic for almost 9 months. Some transformations have caused unrest, but we have a duty to learn."

"We believe that the three commissions we have created in the Cercle d'Economia can help our country's productivity. (…) The economy-health dichotomy is false. The best way to protect the economy is by protecting health."

"One thing I share about the findings of Cercle d'Economia is that primary and community care needs to move to the center. It won't be easy to do that because it requires structural change."
