Foundation

Since its formation in 1958, the history of the Cercle has been defined around a group of people who share a similar sensitivity and concerns towards those aspects of particular significance for our economy and society.

The Foundation was incorporated on 16 July 1986, realising a previous aspiration which began to manifest itself in the late 60s: the will to complement the tasks of the Cercle and deepen the cultural, social and economic policies that are of general interest. Among the activities conducted annually by the Foundation, most notable are the Education Award, which recognises the effort of the educational centers who promote the generation of talent in environments with difficulties, the Award for Corporate Sponsorship and Patronage, for initiatives in the creation of employment, cultural heritage or volunteering and the José Manuel Lara Prize for ambition and business purpose, remembering the leading figure of former president Lara, who wanted to recognise the ability to move a project from infancy to maturity.

Board of Trustees and Honorary Council

The composition of the Board of Trustees and the Honorary Council, as well as the lines of action that define the Foundation, share the vision of the Cercle to maximise the capacities of both institutions.
